The Topanga Canyon Docents was started in 1974 by a group of friends and activists who wanted to share their love of nature and the Santa Monica Mountains. They volunteer time for public nature walks and give programs for school groups. On Sundays from Jan. to June, docents provide visitor information and guided public walks that meet at 10:00 am, at the Trippet Ranch parking lot.
