Candidates Invited to Address Topanga Community at Meeting on October 16th
The next Topanga Town Council meeting will feature election information. The two candidates facing off in the runoff election for California’s 42nd Assembly District. Current Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and Small Businessman Ted Nordblum have been invited to the meeting to address the community regarding their plans and vision for this district over the next two years. The Town Council shared a number of community concerns with the two candidates — in particular insurance, exorbitant utility costs, and protracted road closures — to see how they might help address these serious issues. For more election specifics, ballot races, and voting locations, see info here.
In addition to this special election feature, we will also hear from our first responders about crime, wildfire readiness, and traffic/road safety.
CANDIDATES’ WEBSITES:
HELP US STAY “FIREWISE” for 2025!
*We also would like to make a final pitch to all residents to submit all home hardening and vegetation
management activities that you have performed in 2024 to our online Firewise Reporting database. If a critical mass of residents submits completed activities, our community will continue to qualify for the Firewise program, which entitles residents in Topanga to a discount on wildfire insurance premiums.
