California Youth Climate Commission Is Calling for Young Adults to Be a Part of a Global Commitment — Apply Now!
Published August 29, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.

The climate crisis is here and the time to act is now. Youth and young adults locally and globally have spoken out on the dramatic change it will have on all our lifetimes. Born from youth advocacy, Los Angeles County (County) is proud to establish the first-ever Los Angeles County Youth Climate Commission (YCC).

Coordinated by the Chief Sustainability Office (CSO), the vision is to have Commissioners make recommendations, and provide ideas and advice to the Board of Supervisors on the County’s climate-related goals, plans, actions, policies and initiatives.

Each County Supervisor will select 5 commissioners for their own District, for a total of 25 Commissioners countywide. The County is committed to an inclusive recruitment process and invites young adult leaders from all backgrounds and communities to apply. The minimum age is 18.

Apply here! The application deadline is Thursday, September 15, at midnight.
