Come pick up a free wildfire and disaster alert NOAA radio from the Topanga Library in August.

 

As extreme drought conditions persist, increasing the risk of wildland fire activity in Topanga and across the state, it is critical that residents are ready for potential disasters. Learn how to prepare for fires and other emergencies during a special meeting at the Topanga Library on June 25. 

 

On June 1, 2022, the Los Angeles County Waterworks Districts issued mandatory water restrictions due to severe drought in California, accumulating over the past three years. The Topanga Town Council is currently in communication with local and state officials on how to create better and smarter water management policies that address allotment and equity issues. The Town Council is seeking input from residents about their questions, concerns, and challenges with the new water restrictions. 

 

"At this time, communities within the West Basin service area are not affected by these mandatory water restrictions since we receive 100% of our imported water from the Colorado River Aqueduct."
