Butterfly Walk, Butterfly Talk

TWO EVENTS WITH BUTTERFLY EXPERT FRED HEATH THIS SATURDAY

Former Topanga Docent and author of "An Introduction to Southern California Butterflies," Fred Heath, is hostin
g a butterfly walk and a butterfly talk Saturday, April 1, in Topanga.

The first event, the Butterfly Walk at Trippet Ranch, is produced by the Topanga Canyon Docents and starts at 9:30a.m.

The event is free and does not require an RSVP. Suggestion: Bring a lunch and eat at the park's visitor center after the walk, then head over to the Mermaid for the second event. (It's okay to attend either or both programs.) Trippet Ranch: 20828 Entrada Rd., Topanga

The second event is a Butterfly Talk at the Mermaid, which will start at 1:30p.m. The talk is called, "The Life and Times of Our Local Butterflies," and features color photos by Herbert Clarke. There will be personally signed copies of Fred Heath's book available for $20. The afternoon event is provided as a public service by the Mermaid Historic Site and Gardens.
